Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to, and use of the SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT service. They are permanently published in accordance with the requirements of applicable information society services legislation, including Directive 2000/31/EC (the E-Commerce Directive) and its national implementing measures.
These Terms do not constitute the contract governing your use of SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT. Depending on how you access the service, the applicable terms are further described in Section 6 of these Terms.

Sanoma Pro Oy, together with its affiliates in the Sanoma Group entity commercialising Sanna - Teacher Assistant in your country of residence (the “Sanoma Group” or “Sanoma”), is responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT across all markets in which the service is made available.
2. ABOUT SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT
SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT is a digital service incorporating artificial intelligence technology, designed to support teachers and other education professionals in their day-to-day teaching activities. The service is intended for use by adults acting in a professional educational capacity. It is not directed at, and should not be used by, minors.
SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT incorporates artificial intelligence functionality. For detailed information about how artificial intelligence is used within the service, including its capabilities, limitations, and the role of the user, please refer to our AI Transparency Notice.
3. ACCESS TO SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT
Access to SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT may be available under two models:
(a) Institutional access. Your educational institution or organisation (such as a school, college, or other education provider) may have entered into a contract with Sanoma Pro Oy or with a member of the Sanoma Group (see Section 5) for the provision of SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT. Under this model, your institution grants you access to the service as an end user. Your right to use SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT, and the terms and conditions governing that use, are set out in the agreement between your institution and the relevant Sanoma Group entity. Sanoma Pro Oy does not have a direct contractual relationship with you in this model.
(b) Individual access. You have entered into a direct contract with Sanoma Pro Oy or with a member of the Sanoma Group (see Section 5) as an individual consumer or professional. In this model, your use of SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT is governed by the Terms and Conditions of Use for Individual Users, which you must accept before accessing the service.

4. PERMITTED USE OF SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT
SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT must be used solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms and the applicable terms of use governing your access to the service. The following uses are, in particular, prohibited:
- Using SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT for any purpose other than legitimate professional educational activity.
- Modifying, adapting, reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT.
- Uploading, transmitting, or distributing viruses, malware, or any other harmful or malicious code.
- Sending unsolicited commercial communications, spam, or chain messages.
- Collecting or harvesting personal data of other users without a lawful basis.
- Accessing, without authorisation, any part of SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT or Sanoma Group's systems or networks.
- Circumventing or attempting to circumvent any security or authentication measures of SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT.
- Taking any action that places a disproportionate or unnecessary load on SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT’s infrastructure.
- Uploading, posting, or transmitting content that is defamatory, offensive, discriminatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful.
- Impersonating any person or organisation, or misrepresenting your identity or professional affiliation.
- Using SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT in any way that infringes the intellectual property rights or other rights of the Sanoma Group or any third party.
Sanoma reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT for any user who breaches these Terms or the applicable terms of use, without prior notice and without entitlement to compensation. If you become aware of content on SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT that you consider to be unlawful or in breach of these Terms, please notify us using the contact details in Section 1.
5. CONTRACTING ENTITIES
Sanoma Pro Oy provides SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT as the service operator. However, if your institution has accessed SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT under the institutional model described in Section 3(a), the contract between your institution and the Sanoma Group may have been entered into by a local Sanoma Group entity, which acts as the institutional contractual counterparty. In those cases, Sanoma Pro Oy acts as the service provider to that local entity. Similarly, individual consumer or professional contracts may be entered into with the local entity relevant to your jurisdiction.
The local Sanoma Group entities that may act as the contractual counterparty, depending on the country from which the service is accessed, are the following:

For the terms and conditions applicable to your institution’s contract, please refer to the agreement entered into by your institution with the relevant Sanoma Group entity.
6. APPLICABLE TERMS AND RELATED POLICIES
(a) Institutional access. If your educational institution or organisation has granted you access to SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT under an agreement with a Sanoma Group entity, your use of the service is governed by that agreement and any end-user terms communicated to you by your institution. Please contact your institution directly for further information.
(b) Individual access. If you have contracted directly with a member of the Sanoma Group as an individual user, your use of SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT is governed by the Terms and Conditions of Use for Individual Users, which you must accept before accessing the service.

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and any of the documents listed above, the more specific document shall prevail.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Sanoma is the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights in SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT, including but not limited to the platform itself, its underlying software, its content, interfaces, designs, trademarks, and any materials accessible through it. Nothing in these Terms or in your use of SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
You may use SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT solely for the educational and professional purposes for which it is made available, in accordance with the applicable terms of use. Any other use — including reproduction, distribution, adaptation, public communication, or incorporation into any other work — is prohibited without the prior written consent of Sanoma.
The use of any automated means to collect, extract, or generate content from SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT, including for the purposes of text and data mining, machine learning, the development or training of artificial intelligence systems, or algorithm enrichment, is strictly prohibited without the prior express written consent of Sanoma.
User-uploaded content
SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT may allow you to upload content in the course of using the service. You are solely responsible for all content you upload and must ensure that you hold all necessary rights, licences, and authorisations to do so. You must not upload any content that infringes the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party.
By uploading content through SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT, you grant the Sanoma Group a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, and process that content to the extent necessary to provide the service. You retain ownership of your content. The Sanoma Group does not monitor uploaded content prior to upload but reserves the right to review and remove any content that it reasonably considers to breach these Terms or applicable law.
Notice and action
If you are a rights holder (or authorised to act on behalf of one) and consider that content accessible through SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT infringes your rights or is otherwise unlawful, you may submit a notice at https://www.sanomapro.fi/ota-yhteytta/asiakaspalvelu/.
A valid notice should: (a) identify the notifying party, stating as a minimum their name or company name and a contact email address, and confirm their ownership of the rights or authority to act; (b) explain why the content is alleged to infringe or be unlawful; (c) identify the content and its location within the service with sufficient detail; and (d) include a good-faith declaration that all information provided is true and accurate. On receipt of a valid notice, Sanoma will assess the claim and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the relevant content. Where content is removed, the affected user will be informed of the reasons, unless doing so is prohibited by law or would prejudice an investigation by a competent authority.

8. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT incorporates artificial intelligence technology. The Sanoma Group is committed to the responsible and transparent use of AI. For full information about the AI systems used in SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT, including how they work, their limitations, and the steps that the Sanoma Group takes to ensure human oversight and accountability, please refer to our AI Transparency Notice.
9. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY
The Sanoma Group processes personal data in connection with SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation, “GDPR”) and other applicable data protection legislation.
Depending on the model under which you access SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT:
(a) Institutional access. Your educational institution acts as data controller in respect of the personal data of its end users, including teachers, that is processed through SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT. Sanoma Pro Oy acts as sub-processor, in accordance with a data processing agreement entered into between the relevant Sanoma Group entity and your institution.
(b) Direct access. Sanoma acts as data controller in respect of your personal data.

10. ACCESSIBILITY
Sanoma is committed to making SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT accessible to all users. For information about the accessibility features of the service and our compliance with applicable accessibility requirements, please refer to our Accessibility Statement.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
SANNA - TEACHER ASSISTANT is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sanoma does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from its use, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes Sanoma’s liability to the extent that such limitation or exclusion is not permitted by applicable mandatory law, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
The above limitations do not affect consumer statutory rights under the law of the country in which you are habitually resident. In particular, nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection legislation.
12. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

13. GENERAL
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
No waiver. Sanoma’s failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms on any occasion shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
